Elle a permis d\u2019utiliser le rayonnement du synchrotron pour faire une spectroscopie du gaz \u00E0 \u00E9tudier.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003EEn effet, ce rayonnement arrivant sur le gaz que l\u2019on veut \u00E9tudier, cr\u00E9e des ions (et des neutrons) qui sont d\u00E9tect\u00E9s pour un syst\u00E8me d\u2019acquisition reli\u00E9 \u00E0 un ordinateur. Pour avoir une spectroscopie du gaz, il suffit de faire varier la longueur d\u2019onde de la lumi\u00E8re provenant du synchrotron (on utilise g\u00E9n\u00E9ralement la zone proche des rayons X).\u003Cbr /\u003ECette exp\u00E9rience a \u00E9galement eu pour but de calculer le \u201Ctemps de vol\u201D des ions (et des neutrons) ainsi cr\u00E9\u00E9s. Ce temps de vol est la dur\u00E9e que met l\u2019ion \u00E0 parcourir une certaine distance. Gr\u00E2ce \u00E0 cette donn\u00E9e, les chercheurs ont pu faire des calculs pour conna\u00EEtre le type exact de chaque ion, et donc pour \u00E9tudier les r\u00E9actions chimiques ainsi effectu\u00E9es.\u003Cbr /\u003ELe logiciel\u00A0\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Cem\u003EHit\u003C/em\u003E\u003C/strong\u003E\u00A0sert principalement \u00E0 :\u003Cbr /\u003E\u2013 programmer toutes les cartes du rack\u00A0\u003Cem\u003ECAMAC\u003C/em\u003E\u00A0(cartes\u00A0\u003Cem\u003ETDC\u003C/em\u003E,\u00A0\u003Cem\u003Ebuffer\u003C/em\u003E, discriminateur),\u003Cbr /\u003E\u2013 r\u00E9aliser l\u2019acquisition.\u003Cbr /\u003EL\u2019acquisition des donn\u00E9es permet de m\u00E9moriser le temps de vol des ions et des neutrons. Ces temps de vol sont stock\u00E9s par l\u2019ordinateur et affich\u00E9s sous forme d\u2019histogrammes.\u003Cbr /\u003EDe plus, le syst\u00E8me permet de savoir quand il y a des \u201Cdoubles \u00E9v\u00E9nements\u201D, c\u2019est-\u00E0-dire quand il y a \u00E0 la fois des ions et des neutres (avec la m\u00EAme dur\u00E9e).
